Cats can jump up to 8 feet in the air, which is higher than any other mammal. 5. Cats have an incredible sense of smell, detecting odors up to almost 10 times better than humans. 6. Cats sleep an average of 16 hours per day, which explains why they seem to always be so alert. 7. Cats have a special “climbing” pad on their paws that helps them grip surfaces and climb with ease. 8. While cats are typically solitary creatures, they can get along with other cats and even people if they are socialized when they’re young. 9. Unlike dogs, cats have eyeballs that can see in ultraviolet light! 10. And finally, cats are notorious for their kneading behavior.
